I am attempting to do the exact same thing, and even submitted a report about the error. My report looks almost identical to the first post on this page lol!

same problem, also a bug report >< apparently i'm not the first!

Glad to hear that its being worked on at the moment, I can't wait for this bug to be fixed.

DF 4.0.1b3 - Memory leak somewhere

I came home this evening and sat down to my machine, things were acting a bit wonky- CPU usage was pretty high considering there wasn't anything I had left running that was CPU intensive. Looked in Process Explorer and noticed that DF was using quite a bit of memory and about 25% CPU (it was fighting with another process that I hadn't seen conflicting with DF before- a 'gaming mouse''s configuration & control program).

I'm attaching 2 images so you can see the insanity.

DF was still responding, but it was pretty laggy. It took ~30 seconds or so to bring up the DF menu. Likely because everything was swapped out to disk.

Sorry for the late response, we've been super busy this week. I've just tested this out in 4.0.1 Beta 3, and everything seems to line up correctly. If you haven't already tried it, could you update and let me know how it goes?

Ok, thanks! I'm not sure if the fix we added was only for the Windows command prompt, or if it's supposed to also work for PuTTY. I'll look into it and keep you posted.

No worries Norman! I believe the Google Photos Screen Saver actually supports multiple monitors natively, if you just configure it through the Windows Screen Saver settings, I just figured you wanted to configure it in DisplayFusion to have everything setup in the same place

Ok, could you please do the following?

Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Detailed) and click Apply
Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
Send me the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)

Merge active window buttons into application buttons

In Windows 7, if an application that is pinned to the taskbar is active, the icon for the application is an active button. Can you make the DF taskbar work the same way?

See my image for an example of how my DF taskbar looks.

Sorry, my bad! I actually didn't test the Wallpaper Profiles, only that the monitor showed up correctly in the Monitor Configuration.

Fullscreen Firefox and Middle Click

Hi there,

When I have Firefox fullscreen (had 10 now moved to 12 and still same issue), and I use the middle-click on the titlebar to send the window to the next monitor, the Firefox window sort of disappears. I say 'sort of' because it leaves just a little grey edge on the right of the first screen. It shows up in the taskbar of the second screen, but if I want to bring it back, I have to click the taskbar a couple of times and then it shows back on the first screen.

Only happens when Firefox is in fullscreen mode (first two screens are the same resolution; I have a third screen that is different but this happens even if I disable the third). Tried the newest version of DF (demo) and tried a lot of options to no avail (including the top-tab browser option). With Firefox 3.6 (my previous version), I do not see this issue.

Any idea how I can fix it? I've become dependent on the middle-click!

Tooltip color

Thanks Peter! From the info, I noticed that you're running Bins 1.0.0.221. There was a known compatibility issue between DisplayFusion and that version of Bins. They've fixed it up, and it's available here: http://feedback.1upindustries.com/forums/103683-suggestions/suggestions/1787189-displayfusion-compatibility-

Note that you'll need to restart DisplayFusion after installing the updated version of Bins.

Blue Arrow Tiltebar button XP

We have recently bought a site License for Display fusion and have rolled it out to lots of users with great effect. Kudos on this application, one of my favourite 3rd party apps.

However I have now got two users with an odd bug/conflict, both are using dual screens on XP SP3 on a Dell desktop with an Intel(R) 4 Series Internal Chipset graphics adapter.

A strange Blue arrow on a gray button appears next to the Swap Monitors Titlebar Button on certain windows (not all) but only on the when that window is in focus and only if it is not fully maximised. If pressed the button makes the active window vanish but the task bar entry stays there, it can be difficult to make the application re-appear (one program I had to remove the registry entries for last window position)

I'm not sure if this is caused by Display fusion or if Ultramon or something may have once been installed. Both users state that it is only since Display Fusion was installed that the button has appeared. I have used the compatiblity settings in Display Fusion and removed the Titlebar Butons from a couple of programs but although the Display Fusion button vanishes the blue arrow remains. I can't see any other program that might be adding the button.

Any iDeas?

Hi,
I would love to be able to display a HD webcam from the http://www.earthcam.com network as background,
but displaying webcam pictures like http://www.comune.imperia.it/capture1.jpg, which updates every minute or so, would be fine as well. There are a lot of HD webcams worldwide and I love to show these as background (http://www.webcams.travel/)

I don't think it would be a big problem for you to add that support, as you already have support for webbased picture galleries.

Just give us the option to use a picture at a certain webadress as background and refresh it at a user-defined interval.
A earthcam background might be more complicated, as these are flash-based, but not impossible I think.

Sorry for the late reply guys, we've been working as much as we can on these crashing issues. Thanks for the logs, it looks like you both have the same issue. I think we've fixed up both issues for the upcoming Beta 4. Once it's released later this week, can you provide feedback on whether the issue has been fixed (or at least improved)? Thanks!

Just something that could help us orgnize our collection of lots and lots of wallpapers. I right click and delte function in the desktop to delete the actual file from the wallpaper folder, this could be really amazing to do.

The CPU usage of DisplayFusion 4.0.1 beta 3 appears to steadily increase during its use for some reason.

I've attached a screenshot of a performance capture I did of proccessor time over about 5 hours of normal computer use of the DisplayFusion.exe process. Doesn't really look too good.

This is on a Windows 7 x64 Ultimate edition.

just FYI I also use mDesktop and it's outstanding! I used it along with displayfusion for about 6 months. Unfortunately I recently got a laptop at work and when I use my laptop dock it breaks the functionality of displayfusion's multimonitor tasksbar. Basically the multimonitor taskbar only works on virtual desktop 1 instead of all virtual desktops. This had worked fine before I had a laptop + dock.

There is a feature you can leverage in mDesktop to keep certain windows with a specific 'window name' across all screens. However, I could never properly configure DF's multimonitor taskbar to do this as I don't believe the secondary taskbar has a name. (The only way I could get it to replicate across all screens was to use a single wildcard character).

DF V4.0.1 Beta3: Security Scanner Taskbar icon disappears during scanning

This applies to Windows 7 SP1 x64 and x86 Professional starting with DF V4.0.1.Beta3.

When performing full system scans with security programs Malwarebytes Anti Malware and TrojanHunter, the program icon in the DF taskbar briefly (1-2 seconds) and randomly disappears and then returns. It is very random as to when the icon will disappear. I have not been able to reliably make it happen at specific points in the full system scan. It occurs 6-10 times during the full system scans that take 20-45 minutes. I have also noticed the icon disappear from the DF taskbar, briefly appear in the Windows taskbar, and then jump back to the DF taskbar.

The attached video shows it occurring as TrojanHunter scans ports and then memory. (TH icon on lower left in DF taskbar.)

The display fusion menu start is on the right monitor on the left edge, and as you see the menu start is placed too far to the left, so that it goes off the screen.

Hi, I am also getting this problem, I'm not 100% certain but it appears like the application isn't crashing but the taskbar instances are being recycled repeatedly. I have attached a debug log of opening the app, letting it "crash" a few times and closing the app.

It seems that the following is repeated in the log each the time the taskbar closes

This didn't happen with 4.0.0, it started when I updated to beta 2 (I think it was beta 2)

As an update....I did try to manually make the changes with windows normal settings and then saving the profiles. I did that, assigned shortcut keys and then when trying to change the first time I encountered an error saying it could not make the change so I tried to change the the configuration that was already loaded and it just disabled a monitor.

I get that its not working because settings I am changing are outside of displayfusion and probably not being saved by it.

Hope to see this addressed.

I decided to finally setup monitor profile so that i can assign shortcut keys to a monitor profile that has the desktop extended and one that has it duplicated to the other monitor and to my surprise i didn't see anywhere in the monitor configuration screen that would allow me to change to duplicate. Its either Disconnect Monitor or Extend Desktop To This Display.

Am I missing something?
