I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered. ???

On Windows 10 x64 Tech Preview, the DF wallpapers transition in....its kind of a slow fade in...not real slow...but slow.

On Windows 8.1.1 x64 this type of wallpaper transition does not seem to be functioning.

There are a couple of things to check for this issue:
  • In the DisplayFusion Wallpaper > Wallpaper Settings, is "Use transitions..." enabled?
  • In Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > Make the computer easier to see, is "Turn off all unnecessary animations" enabled?
  • Is the %%LOCALAPPDATA%%\DisplayFusion\Wallpaper_X file larger than 25MB?

Thanks!

  • Use transitions is enabled.

  • In Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > Make the computer easier to see, is "Turn off all unnecessary animations" enabled?
  • "Turn off all unnecessary animations" is unchecked.

  • These files are less than 25 MB.

I use a weather program named Weather Watcher Live. It has a feature called "Magnets" that permits the user to superimpose weather maps onto the wallpaper. (See pic). "Turn off all unnecessary animations" has to be turned off/unchecked for these magnets to work properly. On Windows 10, this option was turned on and the magnet did not work, but the wallpaper transitions did work. When I unchecked that option, the magnets worked but the wallpaper transitions no longer worked. I tested it on Windows 8.1 and it had the same negative affect on the magnets. So the transition no longer works on Windows 10. ???

Sorry, my post was a bit confusing. In order for the wallpaper transitions to work, the "Turn off unnecessary animations" option needs to be disabled. To verify, you're saying that on your system, when that option is disabled, the wallpaper transitions do not work, but when it's enabled, they do work?

Attached is picture that shows the setting that makes the transitions work on both Windows 8.1.1 and Windows 10. But with this setting, the magnets of Weather Watcher Live no longer work. ???

Ah ok, that clears it up. That's expected, unfortunately. When that option is enabled, Windows doesn't allow the wallpaper transitions, and when DF tries to do the transition with that option on, the wallpaper doesn't change at all, so we had to make DF not try the transition if that option is enabled.

Sorry for the bad news!
