Hello,

I have Hexchat and Winamp on Window Location, and have Custom Function assigned for them both. First Window Only is selected, but sometimes, when opening Hexchat search (CTRL+F), the search box gets maximized, as it would be the main Hexchat window. Same thing happens with Winamp jump (J), which gets resized to match the window in the screenshot attachment. This does not happen every time, and seems to be really random overall. Might have something to do how those are created/paired with the main program. I'll try to capture it happening with L2 logging if needed, but as its really random, that might be few days of logging. :)

Ok, strange! The next time it does happen, definitely attach the log and we'll check it out. Did this only start happening with 7.0 Beta 12?

This has happened since I switched to 7.* builds, as far as I've noticed, its not dependent on those.

Is there a way to have HexChat enable the search box on startup? When I start HexChat here, I always have to go to the Window > Search menu to enable it.

Edit: I misread your original post. Re-testing here with a Window Location rule for HexChat and using Ctrl + F.

Not that I know of, always used the CTRL+F hotkey for it.

Ok, I wasn't able to reproduce this here. Were you able to grab a debug log, or has it not happened since your original report?

Still logging, it seems to happen only once after the program start, thus replicating it is bit time consuming. :)

Ok, gotcha. I'll wait for the log then :)

Thanks!

Ok, interesting! Do you have HexChat set to run on startup? Just wondering if it's launching before DisplayFusion, causing DisplayFusion to think the Find window is the "first" window.

Also, is there a way to make the Find box a separate window? Or is it always just a little toolbar above the chat input box?

Nope, its not starting before DF, I wait for my things to be booted up before starting other programs. As per screenshot, its separate window, not sure what you mean with little toolbar?

Ah right, you're using the latest version. ;) I've skipped the update due some crucial things being broken. You can grab the version in question:

Ok, I was able to reproduce this here now with that version of HexChat. As for Winamp, which version of that are you running?

Noticed that this is also happening with Notepad++ v6.6.9 Save dialog. I doubt the issue is program specific, since there is quite a range of programs that act out. ???

I wasn't able to reproduce it with the Notepad++ save prompt here. (also running 6.6.9)

Can you send me a debug log for that one?

As that dialog is not resizable, it only moves it. I'll try to capture it as well. :)

Think I caught it happening on Winamp "Save playlist" window. Is that the relevant part of the log? ???

Ok, there's definitely something weird going on there. The log shows that the window is being ignored, and then on the next line, it processes it anyways. We'll investigate further and keep you posted on what we find out :)

Quick question: Does this seem to occur only if DisplayFusion is restarted at some point after HexChat or Winamp are already running? (i.e. after an update to a new DF beta?) Or can you reproduce this by launching HexChat after DisplayFusion is already running?

I can only reproduce the HexChat issue if I restart DF after HexChat is already running.

I havent noticed DF restarts to have any effect. Restarting Winamp/Hexchat can help trigger it. I always update to betas right as the offer comes in.

Beta 2 is now available, can you give it a try and see if it fixes your HexChat issue? Thanks! :)
