Hello,

I'm experiencing performance issues since I've upgraded to DisplayFusion 5.1. As soon as it's launched it's responding quite slowly and the system itself isn't experiencing performances issues and I don't see an excessive memory or CPU from Displayfusion (about 9% with peaks at 40% and about 50MB of RAM used)

I've turned debug on, log is attached

I have the same issues. Mine also crashes at least 10x a day.

@Geraud: I've taken a look at your log, and there is definitely something going wrong in there. It looks like a TitleBar Button is being created and destroyed many times per second for one of your Lync (Communicator) windows. I'll see what I can find out and follow-up.

@Jamie: Would you be able to submit a log as well? Thanks!

@Jon another precision, I've been able to reproduce this behaviour after a reboot with (presumably) different Lync windows opened

I've added more logging in for the next beta version. After we release Beta 1, if you have the issue again just send us your log file and we'll be able to pinpoint exactly why DisplayFusion is creating and removing windows so quickly. Thanks!

I had STOP errors every 20 minutes or so after upgrading. Finally had to just uninstall. I'll try again when the next update is released... Not quite worth the effort/time to debug for the ability to have 3 taskbars (though I loved the software when it worked properly for me). If I reinstall, I'll include logs.. Dell XPS L521X, Win 7 pro SP1 64 Bit, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD 4000 & GeForce GT 640m

I have also had performance issues from the time I upgraded. Although, it hasn't been bad enough for me to complain. Today however I receive an error saying "Title: displayfusion.exe - No Disk" /Content: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive F:. /Buttons: cancel/try again/continue.

This has popped up randomly and quite frequently for about 2 hours now. I have tried restarting the application. No change. Uninstalling/reinstalling the application. No change.

The only thing that's changed in my stem in the past month or so is the new USB modem I've installed, just the driver...no other software.

Can I go back to the previous version, it gave me no issues and everything I wanted(I KNEW I shouldn't have taken the upgrade!!)

Any help would be appreciated.

I uninstalled 5.1. Re-installed version 4.01(I looked for version 5.01 but didn't din it--I didn't look very hard:-)which I have saved in a safe place. When I uninstalled I chose to retain my settings. I then went into the c:\program files (x86)\display Fusion\Hooks directory and deleted to the two left over apphook.dll's that are not deleted when you choose to retain your settings...then I rebooted and installed version 4.01. I DID have to restore my login back ground to what it was before going through all this (takes a second) and I've been running like this for a coupe hours with no more issues.

If anyone who matters or who can actually do anything would reply with a link to the 5.01 version, which also ran flawlessly on my PC setup I would appreciate it:-)

Thanks,

J

I am also having issues with DisplayFusion 5.1.

My issue is that there seems to be a memory leak somewhere in the program and if I leave my computer running for a few days, DF will use up all the memory until programs start to crash on the system.

This is a brand new system, built earlier this year with an i7-3770K cpu and 16GB of RAM.

Unfortunately I didn't have logging enabled in DF so can't provide a log but was able to take a screenshot of when DF was close to using 10GB of RAM.

I have attached it below.

Have added DisplayFusion.log now.

Seems to be growing in size very quickly and then resets after reaching around 8 MB in size.

Thanks for the log, we're looking through it right now. I'm pushing to have a beta out ASAP to take care of this issue. I'll follow-up as soon as we have a work-around, thanks!

@Rehan: Can you try deleting this folder on your computer: "D:\Pictures\DisplayFusion\Web Images"? It looks like DisplayFusion has cached a bunch of files that it doesn't need anymore, and for some reason it's having an issue deleting them. After this it should work fine. Thanks!

Thanks Jon, I only found 3 files in there -- downloaded wallpapers -- totaling a total of < 2 MB, but went ahead and deleted the folder. Will see if the problem persists.

Thanks.

@Geraud: We've just released DisplayFusion 5.1.1 Beta 1 (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/), and it's got more logging for the TitleBar Buttons. Could you update, then reproduce the issue and send a new copy of the debug log?

@John: DisplayFusion 5.1.1 Beta 1 fixes up the "no disk in drive" issue :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and the Lync titlebar button issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
