I use DisplayFusion for one purpose - to quickly switch between monitor configurations. Several weeks ago the function stopped working. I hoped the recent update would fix the issue. When that did not work I reinstalled the software. I can start the program now. Sometimes it will open an icon in the taskbar. If I try to right click and access any features the program, it crashes. Other times when I try to launch the icon appears momentarily then crashes on it's own. I can manually change monitors with a tool called DisplayLink, which is a utility that (I believe) is part of a USB to DVI video card; of course this is a several step process that I was able to assign to keyboard shorcuts using DisplayLink. I suspect there may be a conflict at work, but that is the extent of my knowledge...

Sorry to hear that you're running into trouble! Could you attach a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Logging Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

When I try to open the program, the icon appears in the taskbar. If I right click to access any of the components, the program crashes before I can select anything. Today I was able to get as far as seeing my monitor profiles. When I selected a profile it crashed. Launched again, then tried to use the shortcut keys to get to the desired profile. Received a notification about multi-windows taskbars and did I want to disable. Confirmed OK then crashed.

I am not sure how to get to troubleshooting log you referenced. If it is in the application I cannot open the application. If it is a windows log can you provide some steps please? Thanks...

Ah ok, you'll need to do the following to get the logs then:
  • Exit DisplayFusion
  • Save the attached .reg file, double-click it, and choose Yes to import
  • Launch DisplayFusion and make it crash again
  • Open Windows Explorer and type %localappdata%\DisplayFusion into the address bar
  • Attach the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html file from that folder

Thanks!

Attached is the log file for review. Took about 5 tries to get the program to launch, then I was able to recreate the crash. Thanks...

Thanks! There's nothing suspicious in the log unfortunately :(

Could you try updating to the latest 7.1 Beta (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and let me know if it still crashes? We have fixed up a couple of stability issues that were in 7.0. Just want to see if yours is maybe one of the ones we already fixed.
