Greetings again,

I came up with a new idea, and it is doable but i would rather have it on a GUI for adjustments, or for "not as technical" users.

here's the story.... I have a chat program for work and flashes alllllll day long even when nothing is said for a really long time, and I found a registry value to limit the number of times things flash on the taskbar. The Idea for this comes from skype, and how i get a msg, it flashes a few times then just remains yellow till I get to it, so the idea is to barrow that but with all taskbar items.

here are the steps I found:
1) Type regedit in your start menu search bar and open up the Registry Editor.

2) Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP

3) In the right pane, right click on ForegroundFlashCount

4) Click on Modify, and select Decimal.

5) Change the Value to a higher number to however many flashes you want.
NOTE: The default value is 7.

Setting a Value of 1 will give you a single flash.
Setting a Value of 0 will give you indefinite flashes.

6) Close Regedit

7) Log off and Log on or Restart the Computer to apply the changes.

so it seems doable, and would be a nice feature to have a drop down to select a number of flashes, then just hit apply, sure you may still have to reboot due to the registry, but it would be safer for end users, and give everyone a rather nice feature.

Thank you for reviewing my request.

I think we should be able to add that at some point. I've added it to our list and we'll let you know when we're able to :)

Thanks!

Very nice, and as an update, I use an application called Spark, and changing the settings as i posted did not limit it from flashing non-stop

Ah yes, I used to use Spark, and I remember the infinitely flashing taskbar button well!

Ah, then you know my pain, anything that could be done to stop the flashing would be awesome, either though Displayfusion, or any other tip.

Yeah, I never found a solution to that one, but if I come across something, I'll definitely let you know :)
