DisplayFusion 5.0.1 takes almost half a core of my CPU (i7, 3rd gen). Is that intended? Or is it because I configured it to display the taskbar on each of my 6 monitors (aka. Multi-Monitor Taskbars)?

Video of CPU use:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXcKqYcXRto

Thanks,

DisplayFusion will use some CPU, even when at idle, but definitely shouldn't be using that much. I'm not sure if the taskbars would be the cause there, but could you try disabling them on the Settings > Taskbar tab to see if that makes any difference?

Thanks Keith, disabling the Multi-Monitor Taskbar does indeed drastically reduce the CPU consumed by DisplayFusion (almost no CPU used after disabling). But I mostly use DisplayFusion for this feature, so it's not really an option for me :-[.

Ok, just wondering if it's related to a specific application maybe. If you re-enable the Taskbar, but disable the system tray on it (right-click > Multi-Monitor Taskbar > System Tray > Disabled), does that make any difference?

Looks like my version (5.0.1) doesn't have this option (SS attached). Btw I use Classic Shell start menu.

Sorry, you need to right-click a blank spot on the taskbar itself, not the tray icon, as it's a per-taskbar setting :)

Cool, I hadn't noticed those options so far! But even with System Tray > Disabled on each 5 monitor except the primary one, DisplayFusion still eats the same amount of CPU.

Ok, could you try enabling the "Processor Affinity" option in the Settings > Advanced Settings window, then restart DisplayFusion and see if that helps at all?

Thanks!

Done but no difference. Attached SS shows the new setting.

Ok, thanks! I've responded to your other post about the Run window issue, and I'm thinking both of these may be related. I'll need the debug log for both issues, so when you attach it to the other post, I'll review it for this issue too :)
