I have an ultrawide monitor (2560 x 1080), so I always split it into 2 screens so that I can get 2 x 1280 x 1080. With 2 screens on a single monitor, I can compare 2 spreadsheets easily & conveniently on the same monitor. However, when I need to watch a movie, I need the video player to span across the entire monitor so that I can get the full 2560 x 1080 resolution. However, after I split the screen horizontally into 2, the video player always starts up in half of the screen as 1280 x 1080 resolution which really sucks!
So, how do I create a key combination to span the video player or any other window or program to span across the whole monitor at full 2560 x 1080 resolution?
Please advise. Thanks.

Which video player, and are you watching full screen, or just in the window? If it's windowed, could you try restoring it (so it's not maximized) and then hold Shift while clicking maximize again? That should force it to ignore the split when maximizing.
