I was having a similar problem. I don't have HP communicator but I do have Lync 2010. I should have gone here to see what the problem was during my trial. I loved the product and was ready to buy but the slow down just became unbearable. I am trying other similar products with out the slowdown but I because I like your product I decided to give it another look.

I guess my question is this. If I buy the product would you be willing to refund the money if your unable to resolve the slow down? Or would you be willing to extend the 30 day trial to identify the issue?

There is actually a known compatibility issue with Lync 2010 and the DisplayFusion TitleBar Buttons that we're still trying to sort out.

I'll send over a new 30-day trial for you, and in the meantime, to workaround the issue, you can create a Compatibility rule in the DisplayFusion Settings to disable the TitleBar Buttons for Lync :)

Thanks!

Actually, if you wouldn't mind, could you send us a debug log and the Troubleshooting info (settings > Troubleshooting tab) when you run into this issue again, before you setup the Compatibility rule? Here are the steps for debug logging:
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Detailed) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Thanks!

Wow I feel like a Jerk not getting back to you sooner. I got my Key and have enabled the log. As of today...no slow down...but I will keep at it and if I don't find any slow down then I will happy to buy this great product. Thanks for your flexability

I experienced some slow down but no where near what it was before. I removed the "move to next monitor bar" from my lync 2010 application and that seemed to work until just now things slowed again 6/16 12:39 PM unlike before this slowdown can be worked around easily but is still noticeable..

Thanks Robert! Which beta of DisplayFusion was this log from? Also, do you have monitor splitting enabled in the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window?

I believe it is V6.0 but I am not sure how I tell if I have monitor splitting.

Ok, if you're not sure, you likely don't have it enabled. Would you be able to double-check that you're on DisplayFusion 6.0 now, and send over a new debug log the next time the slow-down occurs? In the log you sent over, I'm seeing lines related to a bug that we fixed a few betas ago, so I'm thinking you may still have been on an old beta at that time. You can check the version by hovering over the tray icon. Here are the debug logging steps again as well:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "Logging: Important Only"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • The next time it occurs, note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!
