I tried searching help and the discussions but I couldn't find anything. Windows has a built in function to prevent a window from opening across the division between two monitors. It could force a window to open on one monitor or the other. Is it possible to force display fusion to force any/all windows open on only one split display without spanning multiple displays?

I don't want to use any keyboard or mouse tricks for this, I was open it would be a universal setting.

Do you want it to open on a specific split, or just whichever the nearest split is when the window opens?

If you want it on a specific split, you can create a Window Location rule on the Settings > Window Location tab, and specify *.* as the application, so that it matches all new windows.

I would ideally just like it coerced to the nearest window (whichever one might contain over 50% of the window). Your suggestion to use a wildcard may work in the short term since that will at least make it predictable. In essence, I just don't want the window half shown on two monitors or splits.

Another example of where this would be useful which may require even more code: when you right click on the displayfusion system tray icon, the popup menu is split between the #1 monitor/split (on the left) and #2 monitor/split (on the right) which makes it hard to see sometimes.

I think I found exactly what I was looking for (at least with respect to windows, not menus). I originally specified the monitor, but selecting "current monitor" does a window move action to whichever monitor the mouse is on which seems to work.

Ok, awesome, glad to hear you found a decent workaround! I've put this on our list for further investigation as well, and added your info to an open ticket for forcing context menus to stay within a specific split.

Thanks!
