After using Linux for nearly 10 years, and seeing the differences in distros, graphics hardware, and display servers, I can honestly say that something like this might not be an easy task.

In Windows, the underlying handler for changing display configurations really doesn't change, and DisplayFusion uses that handler to do the work.

In Linux, the handler can change based on display server, graphics hardware, drivers, and possibly distros.

While this is true, a Linux version of DisplayFusion would still be a welcome enhancement for any Linux user that uses multiple displays. I'm still rooting for this.

This is a pre purchase inquiry to see if Display Fusion can accomplish what I want.

I've installed Win 11 IoT LTSC. I have four monitors. Hopefully my attached screenshot of my Display Settings shows up. (Monitor 2 is my main display) What I am looking for is to have two of the monitors with vertical taskbars (one vertical on the left side, one vertical on the right side) and two horizontal on the bottom. My main display would be one of the bottom horizontal taskbars. Can Display Fusion achieve this?

Thanks

Hi!
I'm borrowing this thread, since I have the same problem.
I have the calculator on macro (keyboard is Corsair K55 RBG Pro), and when I press the macro, the calculator opens in the background and/or minimized, I want it to open focused. I have tried setting the macro to launch the program directly, and I have tried setting the macro to launch the Setting32 location for the calculator, nothing works.
I read another thread about creating triggers - Window Created - Add Trigger - Focus Window. The problem is, when I press "Add", the "Focus Window" option does not exist (I'm guessing this option was removed in newer versions?).

Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks!

So among the various issues with the plague that is Electron, is that it's a real headache to setup DisplayFusion triggers for them. For example, I have DF set to move Discord and Teams to specific displays and locations when I hook in to my office docking station. The problem is that if I use the Process Filename trigger, it breaks every time the apps update because they always change their bloody filenames with each one. I can't use the Windows Class because every Electron app shows up as "Chrome_WidgetWin_1". And Window Text doesn't work (at least with these two apps) because the title changes depending on what channel etc. you're in at a given time.

I figure there surely must be a reliable way to handle these types of apps that I'm just not seeing, so I thought I'd ask if people have any strategies for these given how far the Electron plague has spread these days.

Cheers.

It will have the side effect of replacing the usual title bar with one that looks like Vista... but it won't have DF icons. For your example that has no real titlebar to begin with, it might simply do what you want.

I was fooling around in another thread and got Wallpaper Engine to flicker... but it was regardless of DisplayFusion settings or even running... so I don't know what that means for you guys.

Make sure this setting is off in Wallpaper Engine. It repeatedly launches some program to reset Windows wallpaper settings and about 20% of the time, this causes a black flash for me.

Since only Wallpaper Engine should be touching wallpapers... make sure Display Fusion wallpaper handling is disabled and for Windows, set the background to a solid color. And make sure that the settings actually stick. The Wallpaper Engine checkbox seems to reset itself, so you might have to make the changes several times before Wallpaper Engine stops goofing off.

The Wallpaper Engine checkbox needs to stay off between restarts and the Windows wallpaper needs to stay a solid color.

Update:
Changing Windows wallpaper to a static color fixed the issue (from the Steam link posted). Windows? Why? I don't even anymore...

I tried this and it fixed it for a few minutes but I think Wallpaper Engine resets this to a picture for the wallpaper playlist so the issue just kept coming back once the app is minimized back into the system tray.

This setting in Wallpaper Engine seems buggy. It can re-enable itself for who knows what reason. Go and turn the setting off and close Wallpaper Engine. Fix the Windows settings back to solid color and restart Wallpaper Engine. Double-check that Wallpaper Engine has not reenabled the setting and double-check that Windows settings remain at a solid color.

I had a heck of a time making this stick. When the setting is enabled, Wallpaper Engine is constantly running some program to reset the wallpaper and about 20% of the time that causes a black flash for the wallpaper. The goal is to stop Wallpaper Engine from ever starting that program again.
