I was on Steam version 12.0.2 and wallpaper slideshow worked as expected.

Updating to 12.1 breaks it and it is still broken in 12.1.1

If I set the profile from within the app, it seems to work as expected.
If I set the profile using a function, the slideshow is not activated.

I think I may have just fixed it though. I deleted %LocalAppData%\DisplayFusion\WallpaperHistoryV4.log and the WallpaperGenerated* files and then restarted DisplayFusion.

Actually, more precisely, it looks as if changes at the NASA end were implemented as of today - though the image should have changed yesterday and it did not. Any advice as to how to implmenet the new NASA system. - DP for my desktop monitor
- 2 HDMI + 1 DP for my simrig monitors, triple screen. Eyefinity enabled.

When switching from a profile with only the desktop enabled (DESKTOP) to a profile with the eyefinity enabled in the other 3 monitors (SIM_TRIPLES) displayfusion fails to enable the screens since it only sees them as a single one.

The desktop monitor is DISPLAY_1, the simrig monitors are (from left to right) DISPLAY_4, DISPLAY_3, DISPLAY_2. When using eyefinity they are all seen as a display 4, so I need to make sure that at least display 2 is enabled before switching to SIM_TRIPLES profile.

We're going to look into adding an option to make that history shared with all monitors so that an image should only be shown once until all images have been shown and the history clears again.

Deviant Art works for me when I test. We can't control the image size that gets returned by Deviant Art, it depends on the source image.

Reddit unfortunately will likely be removed. They've made changes that no longer allow us to access the API. We've submitted a request to approve our app, but it's pretty unlikely they will approve it. Try to enable Surround and confirm that it still crashes. This is to confirm that the info gathered in the previous step is in a state where it crashes when enabling Surround.

We'll compare the two sets of info to see what values are different and we'll see if we can sort it out.

About 2000 pictures in these folders.

I do not have Find Local Random Images using Less Memory checked.

Problem: The pictures selected do not seem to be very random. Of the dozen splits I run, it is very common that two or more will have the same background. This is not feasable with such a large pool to select from. It hasnt happened once, or twice. It happens VERY frequently atleast 1 in 10 cycles will have the same backgrounds, sometimes multiple splits will have the same but different backgrounds. It can be as often as every other cycle.

Also I notice many images appear quite often and some have never been set. This has bugged me for years. And while I'm here api's for DeviantArt and Reddit are still broken and either dont pull at all or are blurred. I am experiencing a severe issue when switching monitor profiles using DisplayFusion in combination with the new NVIDIA App (which replaced the old NVIDIA Control Panel/GeForce Experience).
My Setup:
• GPU: RTX 4070 Ti
• Configuration: Dual triple-screen setup (1x Triple Monitor Desk Setup, 1x Triple Monitor Sim Racing Setup).
• Connection: The center screens are connected directly to the GPU. The left and right screens of both setups are routed through physical HDMI switches to save GPU ports.
The Problem:
Previously, I used DisplayFusion to successfully switch the main/center monitor, then I enabled NVIDIA Surround for sim racing. However, since the recent NVIDIA updates where Surround was integrated into the new NVIDIA App, this workflow crashes the system.
If I switch profiles using DisplayFusion and then reboot the PC, the system boots into completely black screens (no signal on any monitor). The GPU/driver seems to enter a bootloop/EDID conflict because the new NVIDIA driver tries to load the last saved Surround configuration, but conflicts with the display state managed by DisplayFusion and the HDMI switches.
The only way to recover is to physically unplug all monitor cables from the GPU and plug them back in to reset the display topology.
It seems like the interaction between DisplayFusion's monitor profile switching API and the new NVIDIA App's Surround architecture is causing the Windows Display API to crash upon reboot.
Could you please look into how DisplayFusion handles monitor state changes when an NVIDIA App Surround topology is active?

You can reproduce this manually by moving a non-maximized window into that position as well. It's not really a DisplayFusion bug. Windows itself is remembering or setting that app window's position when it opens.

You could create a Trigger rule in DisplayFusion for all windows to maximize them when opened, or to centre them on the screen when opened. If you want to try that out and need help setting it up, please let me know.

On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and then click "Clear Log"
Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
Reply with the file attached
Disable debug logging after sending the log

Need to go to the properties of the exe file. Go to Compatibility, click on Run As Administrator. Up to here it wasn't still working. What made the difference is that further down I selected "change options for all users". Once that was done. It worked. I ended having to reinstall the app. However, now, when I try to load it went back to the error that it requires elevation. I'm set as administrator on this account. I'm the only account on this laptop, so don't understand why it would ask this. When I first click on it the windows asking to approve admin rights for the app comes up, I click on ok but still the message keeps coming up.

Similar to a firefox problem I saw from 2024...Applications will open and position themselves behind the DF toolbar when it is positiond at the top of the screen...the only solution i've found is to select the icon and move the app to the next monitor, where it will display below the toolbar as expected.

It does sound like adding the two new options I mentioned will suit your workflow, and I think they make sense as options as I can see more people wanting that behaviour from the Preview Popup, so having them as options in the settings versus hidden behind having to create a Trigger rule also makes sense.

For the other two points in your requirements about moving items to the top when selected, and newly copied items appearing at the top, I know there are a couple of bugs there that we're working on, but when they're sorted out, that should also be working the way you're expecting.
