But I hide that one and use it only when DF taskbars fail. (I have also a DF taskbar on my primary monitor. But that is the (smaller) monitor of my laptop and not my main monitor I work on (and have all the splits on).
So maybe I should state my wish not in terms of overlapping monitors an taskbars. But more in the terms of creating a region and be able to drag a monitor to that region.
I see another use of this. I have a window position profile and when the setup of my monitors/splits change (sometimes just because I change the relative height/position of the physical monitors) this profile gets mixed up.
If I was able to define regions and was able to assign windows to a region (as an option next to the coordinates) I would only have to change the region. And some regions could have the option of being able to drag windows to (similar to the dragging of splits)

I Do want to have a taskbar per split monitor. This will disable it while leaving the other taskbars enabled.

Another option if you just want one taskbar at the bottom of the monitor instead of one for each split is to disable the "Taskbars" checkbox in the Monitor Configuration window

I was hoping that by reordering the numbers within the split I could set the numbering such that the position of the taskbars for the same number in the split would be at the same desired location. However the numbering cannot be influenced by the order of creation, but seems to be from left to right
I came to this conclusion when I was trying something new in my configuration. I was trying to create an overlapping monitor over my current split. Mostly to have a way to drag/maximize a window in the center of my monitor for a quick focussed task. (I do not want to maximize it as then the contents tend to be mainly on one side with the size of my monitor. However, I do not need a taskbar for that monitor (it is fine if the program will be available on one of the other taksbars, I actually just want a region where I can quickly snap/maximize a window to. Is there another way I can achieve this?
