I see what you mean about Steam. Double-clicking acts as though it was single-clicked instead.

I tried adding a bunch of extra icons to see if I could observe any patterns: My guess is that if a program has multiple icons, all icons are drawn as the last icon that was updated. You can see some flickering as each one is updated individually and it settles with the last update.

I could cause an exception to this rule where if I mouse-hovered over an icon, I could get only that one to update as itself. If I waved past a bunch of icons, they might all show correctly until another passive update.

I attached a GIF of what I mean and to show some other behavior. The top is Windows 11, the bottom is DFv11b2.

HWinfo #1

HWinfo #2

HWinfo #3

HWinfo #4

Process Hacker #3

Process Hacker #4

(Static Placeholder)

COMODO (animated)

Process Hacker #1

Process Hacker #2

MSI Afterburner (static icon)

MSI Afterburner (animated FPS)

Windows USB Eject (static)

I could rearrange HWinfo's icons, but the one that DF wanted to draw over the others stayed the same. -- Process Hacker's icons were split but still were drawn over by the last one. -- MSI Afterburner is not supposed to show two icons, but DF has done this since v10 and I learned to ignore it. Since the first icon does not update, it does not flicker.

I forgot to include this comparison, but Process Explorer does not show more than one icon in the DF taskbar. The interesting thing about Process Explorer's taskbar icons is that they cannot be split. If you drag one around, it moves all of them in Windows. So Process Explorer is doing something special to make them a bundle.

Updated the thread title to be more descriptive.

Yeah actually now that I look harder, I also seem to be missing several taskbar tray icons. I don't see MSI Afterburner's main icon or RivaTuner Statistics Server's icon at all on my DF taskbar trays.

Additionally, double clicking taskbar tray icons on the DF taskbar doesn't correctly open applications such as Steam. Applications that require a single click to open work, but any that require a double click on taskbar tray icon do not.

Testing DisplayFusion 11.0 Beta 1 with Windows 11, I noticed a bug with HWinfo64 and multi-monitor taskbars.

When using taskbar icons to show temperatures in the tray, they are not replicating in the other monitor's taskbars correctly. They all appear the same initially and are flashing back and forth between the actual icon and one of the others.

Example of what it is flashing back and forth between.

The main icon for hwinfo also is flashing between its own icon and one of the numbers as well. Guessing it is getting confused between the multiple icons for one application in the tray.
