For some reason I had the advanced setting below set to the non-default value, resetted to default and notifications started working.

I've been trying to show a notification when a trigger is fired, but even though the condition is fulfilled, I see nothing in either Windows notifications panel or anything in the DisplayFusion tray icon (which I've set to visible).

I've attached an example of a simple trigger. Any other action I add there would work, for example "Maximimze Window", so I know the trigger condition itself works. ]]>
