I had a similar issue swapping laptops and restoring my DIsplayFusion settings through export/import and just comparing the dialog for StartAllBack. I endied up with a persistent DisplayFusion error dialog message "The Windows multi-monitor taskbar is currently enabled and may cause issues when the DisplayFusion Multi-Monitor Taskbar is enabled. Would you like to disable the Windows multi-monitor taskbar?"

To resolve this, I disabled StartAllBack "Use enhanced classic toolbar", which necessitated an explorer reboot, then re-enabled and rebooted explorer again. I now have no issues with either set of features. I have the StartAllBack tweaks I want, and I have the DisplayFusion tweaks I want coexisting. It seems to have been about the runtime state of how these taskbar programs were communicating with each other and Windows, rather than genuine incompatability.

That's not to say that ALL settings between the two are compatible, but I've found a sweet spot for my setup. My hope in sharing this information is that others may be able to achieve the same coexistence with their setups. Good luck!

Hi,

I migrated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 23H2 today. In Windows 11 it is not possible to configure and use the Quick Launch toolbar on the Windows taskbar anymore through the methods provided by Microsoft in previous Windows versions. Pinned taskbar items are not a good alternative for me so I resorted to the program StartAllBack. It is a nice program and among some other handy features it allows me to enable the Quick Launch toolbar again.

Here's the problem: whenever I have StartAllBack and Displayfusion enabled they both fight for control of the taskbar which leads to a pretty hilarious loop of them both enabling their control of the taskbar after another. Naturally I can prevent this loop by going into the Displayfusion Options > Taskbar > Disable Multi-Monitor Taskbar, but I want to use that Displayfusion Multi-Monitor feature since I really like it. I also tried the other way around: disable StartAllBack control of the taskbar by setting "Use enchanced classic taskbar" to off and whilst that allows me to enable Displayfusion Multi-Monitor Taskbar, I lose the Quick Launch toolbar.

My question: is there any way I can run these two programs with my stated preferences and without them conflicting with each other? If not, is it possible that Displayfusion implements the option to enable the Quick Launch bar in Windows 11 so I can remove StartAllBack? In Windows versions prior to Windows 11 you could enable it by: right clicking the toolbar > New toolbar > and navigating to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Kind regards
