I am surprised it’s an issue, because nothing I do with DisplayFusion affects my desktop background [to my knowledge]. I imagine the “to my knowledge” modifier is important here

As for the monitors. Yea, they must change Ids. I believe 3 out of 4 of the monitors sit behind HDMI splitters as well, so sometimes the HDMI splitters do weird things like report resolutions that aren’t valid on the original display (and simply downmix it), for example, one is a 1080p TV but I can set its resolution to 4K and it will simply be scaled.

But basically.... I have to be really careful not to ever turn one of them off. It completely removes itself from the chain whenever it’s off. I think this one TV doesn’t have an HDMI splitter before, and sometimes wonder if having one would help just for having a consistent device that is on and reporting itself as on.

Anyway, when i turn off "the bad tv", more or less every window on every monitor gets moved after that, and I think stopping that behavior alone would mean a lot. Really, it should memorize where those windows were when the monitor went out, and if that monitor goes back on again, automatically move them back. I’m keeping Tvs on 24/7/365 for years now because of this. [3 of my 4 screens are large TVs. For your other issue that's very strange, I have 4 monitors and never have any issues and I know that many users use 3+ monitors with no issues. Do your monitor IDs change sometimes? This was never fixed.

For lyric display purposes, I will no longer be using milkdrop in fullscreen, but in desktop. That’s always been my preference anyway, but for over 10 years well:

🛑If DF is running, the fullscreen milkdrop blinks and strobes and annoys everyone in the room.

✅If DF isn’t running iverything behavies normallly.

I’m sad to see that this problem was brought up 14 yerasyears ago but still not fixed.

But then again, DF still can’t properly keep track of which monitor is which, and which programs are on which monitor, or even which monitor is supposed to have the 2-row taskbar and which ones are supposed to have the 1-row taskbar, and that’s been a problem for many years too. It’s like nobody’s ever tested it with 4 displays even though most cards come with 4 ports now.
