It's definitely not a DisplayFusion issue, but I used to have a monitor that did this as well. I believe Amaranth is likely correct about it being some kind of connection handshake issue. My guess is that the monitor sees there's a cable plugged in, but no video signal, so it keeps retrying indefinitely. I'm not an expert on the hardware spec of the cable/connector though, so that's just my hunch.

I ruled out driver issues, unless it's a very long standing bug. I started noticing the issue about 5 years ago. Every few months I wonder if it's still there and try running with the monitor disabled, but it pops up again.

My conclusion was that it's a handshake issue that's particular to some monitors. I have 3 displays connected, two monitors over DP and a TV over HDMI. I can disable the second DP monitor just fine, it's only the first that has issues.
This has been an issue for me throughout multiple GPUs (a 3070 Ti and now a 4070 Ti Super), multiple DisplayPort cables, multiple power cables, multiple drivers, etc...so yeah it starts to wear on you after a while lol

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I did brawl with a similar issue with a different monitor. When disabled but still in standby, it'd try to reconnect every now and then, which would cause the other monitors to lose signal for a second.

In the end it wasn't related to DisplayFusion at all, and after a lot of debugging I didn't manage to find a solution, even after a clean Windows install, changing my cables, and a video card upgrade. I ended up giving up, now I just keep the monitor on even when I don't need it.

I know this isn't the ideal place to ask this (there's a small chance it's related directly to DF though) but I was hoping that with DF's main premise being around multi-monitor setups, surely there must be someone who's run into a similar issue:

I have a 3 monitor setup and a lot of the time I'm just using 1 of them, my main monitor. We'll call my main monitor Monitor 1, a Samsung G93SC ultrawide, secondary monitor Gigabyte M32U Monitor 2, and the problematic tertiary monitor, a Viotek GNV32DB-DP, Monitor 3. The issue is when I'm using only Monitor 1 or only Monitors 1 and 2, the Viotek (Monitor 3) will just randomly pop up with the above message every 30 secs, despite being totally disabled in NVCP/Windows Display settings.

Now when I'm only using Mon 1 (Mon 2 and 3 disabled), Mon 2 has no problem with remaining completely off, whereas Mon 3 will relentlessly keep doing that message cycle until I just straight up hit the physical power button on it to turn it completely off, which sort of defeats the purpose/convenience of only having it "disabled" so I can quickly switch between configs via DisplayFusion. The issue still occurs when I have DisplayFusion completely closed/service stopped, which doesn't completely rule it out but it definitely lessens the chances of it being the issue.

I have all 3 monitors plugged into the same UPS and Monitor 3 has still had the same issue before without the UPS, so I don't think it's that either. I have Windows set to the "hidden" Ultra Performance power options plan so it shouldn't be any issue related to Power Saving, regardless of what the Viotek's OSD message says.I have also attempted to turn off G-Sync on the Viotek's OSD itself as well as in NVCP because I know that can cause some janky power on/off issues as well.

Any idea what could be causing the Viotek to behave like this? The only thing I can see at this point is it's just the monitor hardware itself, but I'd like to avoid replacing it if possible.
