Hi Jon,

I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable installing a beta version.

I wanted to add that I've been experiencing this “stuttering” for years when gaming. Even on my prior build!
It's especially noticeable when looking around evenly in first-person shooters or similar games.

But today I noticed that the stuttering stops completely when I not only stop using “monitor fading,” but also close DF completely.

No lag, no stuttering. Just smooth gameplay.

Since I have the same problem on my desktop, I guess I'll have to stop using DF altogether, which I think is a real shame. I've been using the program for years and really like it!

Can you figure out what the problem is?

Hello again...

I was able to narrow it down to the following feature:

“Monitor Fading”!

When I turn this feature off, the problem is fixed.
That's a shame because I really like this feature because I have two additional monitors connected, but I don't always use them, and this feature saves power, prevents glare, and keeps the monitors from emit too mcuh heat.
So, I think it's really useful!

But now that I think about it...
I found out that when the monitor fading feature is turned off, some games (those created with Unity or Unreal Engine) run a little more smoothly, even though I always only fade out all other monitors except the one I'm playing on (obviously!).

Is there anything that can be done about this?
I don't want to always turn the function off just because I want smoother movement...

Thank you so much!

Hello everyone,

I really hope you can help!

Regarding the situation:

I now have a new monitor (see headline) with 4K/144Hz connected to an RTX4090.
Before that I had a 2K monitor (also 144Hz) plugged in.

Regarding my issue:

When I moved the Windows Explorer window on the 2K monitor, it was incredibly smooth.
144Hz was in full glory.

I had and still have numerous programs running in the background — including DF v11.1.1, of course.
It was never a problem!

Now, when I move the Explorer windows, they jerk like hell!

Only when I completely turn off DF do the windows move smoothly again.

Can this be fixed or is there already a fix/a solution?
I really do like DF, but I also want the windows to move smoothly and cleanly as before.

Thank you very much!
