Hi DisplayFusion Support,

I'm a first-time user, and I'm really enjoying the app so far. I've successfully configured all my apps to launch correctly, but I've encountered an issue that I haven't been able to resolve.

So I must concede and ask for your expert help.

It is regarding a Chrome window placement issue that I have been unable to resolve through triggers, startup functions, and scripted functions.

My setup:

Asus Zenbook Duo with an external monitor

3-screen setup in Windows

I want 2 separate Chrome windows to open on startup

Both Chrome windows should open on Screen 3

One should snap to the left half of Screen 3

One should snap to the right half of Screen 3

The confirmed target values from the DisplayFusion target tool are:

Left half of Screen 3: Left 0, Top 0, Width 1280, Height 1392

Right half of Screen 3: Left 1280, Top 0, Width 1280, Height 1392

What I have already tried:

Window Created triggers using chrome.exe

Window Text matching for separate Chrome windows

Custom Functions to launch Chrome with --new-window

DisplayFusion Starts trigger to launch both windows on startup

Different unique tab titles for each Chrome window

Keeping the relevant tab selected so Window Text matches correctly

Scripted functions including “Open Chrome windows on 2 different monitors”

Manual edits to scripted functions to try to move both windows to Screen 3 left/right

What happens:

In some cases only one Chrome window opens

In some cases both open but both snap to the same side

In some cases one snaps correctly and the other does not

The behaviour is inconsistent, especially at startup

It seems Chrome’s active tab title / session restore behaviour is interfering with reliable identification of the two windows

One important finding:

When using Window Text triggers, the selected tab in each Chrome window seems to determine whether the trigger works

If the tab used in Window Text is not the selected tab, the window often does not snap correctly

What I need to know:

Is there a reliable DisplayFusion-supported way to open and place 2 separate Chrome windows on the same monitor at startup?

1. Is there a better scripted-function approach than Window Text matching for Chrome?

2. Can DisplayFusion reliably target separate Chrome windows when Chrome is set to continue where I left off?

3. Is there a recommended method from your side for this exact type of setup?

I am happy to provide screenshots, exported triggers, or my current scripted function if helpful.

Thank you!
