And having looked in the program folder, there doesn't appear to be an obvious image file that would count as wallpaper.

But otherwise I followed the steps and after choosing a standard windows wallpaper, nothing changed.   • In File Explorer, paste this into the address bar and press Enter: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\​
  • Delete the "TranscodedWallpaper" file in that folder
  • Reboot the machine
  • Try applying the DisplayFusion wallpaper

I didn't think much about it, as I could just set the images again and it would be resolved until the next update.

On January 1st last year, I complained to discord friends that this behaviour had changed: to wit, I would set a wallpaper image, and then a black 'wallpaper' would be automatically assigned. It appeared in the choose your picture section, hence 'wallpaper'. Maybe it's just a solid colour thing. Whatever it is, I can't have my preferred wallpaper.

I don't know what version I was running then, but the issue has persisted since, and I am now running version 12.1 (Beta 1) through Steam.

However. I never once thought "it's DF related" until today, when a post title caused me to think about trying it. And lo and behold, if DF is switched off, the black 'wallpaper' remains, but I can set it and it doesn't change. Not until I load up DF again. ]]>
