A bit of detail is that I turned used the Windows display tab to remove the two monitors from the desktop. 5 days later, I used df to put them back on the desktop.

BTW, Windows eventually figured it out and now shows what df did. This is a day later that I''m report that, so I can't say how long it took precisely. DF did successfully activate the monitors. See the two images below. ]]>
