I've added your request to our feature request list. In the meantime, you can change the "Apply Windows key combinations" setting to "On this computer". Then you can hit ALT+TAB or the Windows key to cycle to other applications. See the attached screenshot for clarification of the setting.

I run the RDP window maximized.

It would be nice if there were some way I could configure a "hot key" to bring the Host computer's Icon tray into focus so I could click on an icon to bring a program on the local desktop into focus without having to "de-maximze" my remote desktop window. ]]>
