Interesting -- what you say can have some sense. Your message came moments after having Slack pop up sometime during the night. I had already shut down Display Fusion and started it back up.

So, I waited until this morning and no Slack this morning and the system is behaving.

But, as memory serves me, simply shutting off Slack does not fix the problem. Rebooting the system did not fix it either. For the last week, restarting Display Fusion does fix the problem until something happens that makes the system weird and then you just restart Display Fusion again for a day or two more of normal operation.

I will report back the next time the system gets weird...

FYI -- I sat down to my computer yesterday and the problem was back. A Slack window had popped up and could not be closed by clicking in the upper right corner. Thunderbird email messages could not be deleted by clicking on the "Delete" button and if the message had blocked material, clicking on the button to show the display options would not work either.
I exited Display Fusion and everything came back to normal. No updates has installed over night.

This morning, I manually turned Display Fusion back on and so far it is working fine.
I did not reboot the computer during all of this.

Add to the list these things: Thunderbird -- can't delete messages clicking on the Delete button. Pressing the keyboard Delete key deletes the messages, but not clicking. Also, Slack at reboot pops up and won't go away by clicking close. You have to right click the icon in the bottom bar and choose "Close Window" to get Slack off the screen. Normally, it does not show up at all during a reboot.

To be fair to Display Fusion -- I am sure a recent update did this to my computer. I have two computers with multiple displays and the second one does not have issues so far. If I turn off Display Fusion, the computer works better, but I have to do the hack listed above and turn off some of the system display enhancements to make it work even without Display Fusion running.

At the moment, I can only think of two circumstances where it's happening:

- Revo Uninstaller Pro 4.2.1 - Clicking on X make the window maximze and then clicking X again returns to the window to normal size. Sometimes if I keep clicking X long enough the window will finally close.

- The problem also seems to manifest itself slightly when I Remote Desktop to another system. When I remote desktop to another system, I get the usual blue control bar at the top of the screen (I’ll include an image of it to this post). When I’m done with my remote session and click the X in the control bar, a huge white window comes up instead of closing the session (I'll include a before-clicking and after-clicking picture in this post). If I click the X a second time, the remote session closes. The problem goes away if DisplayFusion is not running when I do a remote session. I’m not sure what’s changed but I didn’t use to have this particular problem.

It use to happen with GOM Player Plus but it doesn't seem to be happening any more. It probably happens with other programs but I can’t think of what they are right now. The problem does NOT happen with most of the programs that I use.

I'm also having this problem of some programs not closing when I hit the "X" button in the upper right corner of the window. It's not happening with every program. When it does happen, the window for the program I'm trying to close will repeatedly maximize and then shrink to a non-maximized window with each click of the "X" button. The problem goes away immediately if I exit DisplayFusion.

I've tried the workaround suggested in Reply #6 (Windows System > Performance Options, disable the "Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing" option.) but that's not doing anything for me.

I've been right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar for programs that are in this state and selecting "Close Window". That always works.

It's a minor inconvenience but I'd love to see a fix for it.
