There's another setting for the taskbar that if checked; will allow it to reload while a full screen app is running. That could also play a factor for your issue. I'm actually on the latest version of the beta and rarely run into the problem you have. I had a lot more trouble with the default Windows taskbar until I later found another program to fix the taskbar being on top.

I really should have done some more thinking before posting my original post, and explained all the things I've tried, but yes, this setting is usually off, but I tried turning it on as well, without any change.

Quote:
@Leon André Bergman
For your issue (if you haven't already); you might want to go into DisplayFusion setting and find "Show taskbar in front of full screen application when they lose focus" in the taskbar section. The menu bar showing up behind DisplayFusion might be a glitch; as sometimes certain applications don't align well on DisplayFusion once in awhile. Another right click or two might get it over the taskbar.

Thanks for your reply crisdavid.
When I right click, its initially over for half a second, and then its like DisplayFusion performs an update, and puts the taskbar on top. It doesn't help to continuously right-click. This has been going on for a long time now, and I've had to resort to turning DF taskbar off, when using full-screen applications, like Plex, as I can't get the taskbar to hide behind it.

I did check "Show taskbar in front of full-screen application when they loose focus". I have tried with this option on and off. But this doesn't just happen when the application looses focus, it happens every time, immediately. No matter how many times I click outside the application, and then inside the application, to give it focus again, the taskbar wants to sit on top.

It does suddenly start working properly for a while, perhaps after some days, and then suddenly, the issue comes back.

I can post a screenshot of how to setup a custom Function to resize the full screen VLC window to your screen size, less the size of the taskbar. Could you tell me what the resolution of your monitor is, and what the monitor ID # is?
Thanks!

Sorry to drudge up an old topic, but I can't find a solution anywhere. I'd like the secondary taskbar to not cut off a maximized window on my second screen. I don't want it to autohide, I want the taskbar there all the time. Essentially, I want the screen to be maximized, but not full screen, so the 2nd taskbar doesn't cut off the bottom of my maximized window. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I'm on the Steam key, but updated to 6.0.0 Beta 2.

Thanks!

Last time I used DF and Big Picture, the Taskbars would bunch up on the same screen and go screwy. I'm really glad you guys fixed that.

Unfortunately we can't force the Windows taskbar to the back. It's forced always on top by Windows itself

So the game runs on the big screen, which is now the primary display, which now has the Windows Task bar.
In any case, it's not a big deal. I can always unlock the taskbar and drag it somewhere else.

EDIT:
By the way, I just wanted to mention that this time around, DF works very well with Big Picture. Before, the task bars would get all screwy. Now, it properly adjusts and compensates and whatever else it needs to do.
So, over all, it's still doing for me what Windows out of the box cannot.
