I've disabled Acronis Protection and the high CPU usage does indeed go away. I'm fortunate in that I also have Malwarebytes and BitDefender so (I think) can cover what Acronis Protection did. I cannot comment on when this happened, as, although I'm a long term Acronis user, I've only just become a DF user (having just bought an ultrawide monitor 8)). I can't remember when the issue really became evident, but I can't remember it being specific to an acronis update... it was late last year that display fusion became completely unusable resulting in disabling and eventually uninstalling.

For those running Acronis, I seem to have narrowed it down to the "Behaviour engine" part of the antivirus. If I disable that feature in Acronis, then the DF CPU usage is totally normal (~2%). Test build installed. CPU was previously jumping to ~15% consistently, and now hovering between 5 and 10%. Expect this will creep back up over time (which seems to be the pattern).

Not running anything Acronis.

Bitdefender is on my system (MSP version with firewall component disabled). It was one of the first things I turned off to reduce the load. Turning it off did not resolve my high CPU usage issue with DF. Once I installed the latest version of DF its CPU usage went back to around 2% consistently. This morning I reactivated Acronis protection, updated it, ran a san, and let it settle in.
