The auto-rotate setting uses the data stored by your camera (or whatever generated the picture) and tells DisplayFusion that it needs to be rotated. The setting is enabled by default because in most cases the the image was taken by a camera and needs to be rotated 90 degrees to look correct. It sounds like you have some images that were taken by a camera on it's side, then rotated using software but the data in the image was maintained which leads DisplayFusion to believe that it still needs to rotate the images. I hope this eliminates any confusion.

I'm away from work where I use DF, but I'm sure that's the ticket. I admittedly didn't look through the settings and obviously should have. It never crossed my mind that there would be a setting to automatically rotate a desktop image, especially one that would be selected by default. My ignorance spans a lot of subjects, this one included, so I don't doubt there is good reason for the setting though I can't think what it would be!

Hello,
New to this great software (wish I found i long ago) and this forum. Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Problem is a couple of my images, (not all, I haven't tried that many so I can't give you a solid percentage) when chosen as a wallpaper for either of my monitors, get rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise, both in the software preview and on the desktop. I did try searching the forum but didn't come across the problem. I can work around the issue by editing them to be rotated 90 degrees, so that the software rotates them back and they are proper, but I'd rather not have to. I have version 3.1.7. I have rebooted and removed and re-added the images, couldn't think of much else to try. Thanks again.
