Copy the following text, and then click Start and past the text into the search box and click the Enter key on the keyboard:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\
Right-click the file that is named TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and then click Rename
Rename the file to TranscodedWallpaper.old, (change .jpg to .old) and then click Yes when prompted
Double-click slideshow.ini. Slideshow.ini should open with Notepad. Select all the text in slideshow.ini if any exists and press Delete on the keyboard, and then click File and Save to save the changes.
Close Notepad and close the Windows Explorer window and browse to the picture that will be set as the background image
Try to apply a background picture again

Worked like a charm. DisplayFusion sets the wallpaper in the HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper registry key. Maybe try changing it there and see how it goes?

When I try to change the wallpaper through Windows settings, as I normally would have before installing DF, nothing happens. There is no warning message or anything. Windows behaves as it would normally. In fact, in the Themes window, it says that the wallpaer has been changed, but nothing actually changes on the desktop itself even after refreshing the desktop, restarting the computer, etc. Is this something I can resolve by editing the registry?

I use the v3.4.1 on Win7 x 64 and I am facing same problem... Big difficulties to return to a classic wallpaper... after use of DisplayFusion

But especially all links to the libraries of Windows default images have disappeared...

If I could retrieve a .reg that gives me any in place;-)

J'utilise la v3.4.1 sur Win7 x64 et je suis confronté a un problème identique... Grosses difficultés pour revenir à un fond d'écran classique... aprés utilisation de celui DisplayFusion

Mais surtout tout les liens aux bibliothèques d'images par défaut de Windows ont disparu...

Si je pouvais récupérer un .reg qui me remette tout en place ;-)

I recently uninstalled Display Fusion, as I switched back to a single monitor, and no longer needed the dual monitor features I originally installed it for. After uninstalling, I can no longer change my desktop wallpaper. It remains fixed on whatever I had most recently set it to using DisplayFusion. I can't change it using the normal Windows control panel/themes settings. I tried reinstalling DisplayFusion, which allowed me to change wallpapers using the DF program, but once I uninstall again, the wallpaper remains fixed on whatever it was last set on using DF. I tried restarting the computer after uninstalling, refreshing the desktop, and I checked Task Manager which shows no instances of the program running. Can anyone please help? I'm out of ideas. Is there any way to leave DF installed, but have it not handle my desktop wallpaper? I just want to handle wallpapers through Windows again. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if you need more info, eventlogs, etc., I would be happy to provide them. Thanks. ]]>
