The way to change the desktop icon font color is via the personalize control panel screen. Choose the Desktop option and choose the Color 1 to match the similar shade of your wallpaper then Windows sets an appropriate font color for that background. After enabling the setting I've noticed the following so far:
- obviously the drop shadow is there
- the colour of the text does not change
- however the text is visible because of the shadowing

I'll keep on eye on it and let you know if there any further issues.

This seems to be related to the "Use drop shadows for icon labels" option in the Windows System > Advanced > Performance settings. If I disable that option, the desktop icons get set to either white or black based on the current wallpaper, but don't seem to update, even when I just change the wallpaper using the Windows settings.

I've attached a zip file that has both images and screen shots of the desktop with those images as wallpaper.

DF seems to use black as the icon text colour and it's not changed when there is a dark/black wallpaper.

When I switched to using the DF (pro 7.3.1) wallpaper slide show the icon font colour does not change and is in some cases the same as the wallpaper and there not visible and therefore not readable.

I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that can correct this but I can't find it.
