I see it like this ... If there's a window on my big monitor that I want to go away for a bit so I can see another window beneath it, I have three choices:

A stock Windows minimize, then restore later

Drag window to other monitor, then drag back later

Use DisplayFusion 'Move to Next Monitor' button to move to other monitor, then button again to move it back

I would like to use the DisplayFusion 'Move to Next Monitor' button, but that currently has two disadvantages compared to the other two techniques:

When I bring the window back to its original screen, the size has changed

When I bring the window back to its original screen, it's in a different location

I could live with the first issue (size), but it would be great if the location problem could be dealt with.

Thanks for listening!

This is somewhat by design. When moving to the next monitor, DisplayFusion will attempt to place it in the same (relative) location. When moving to a lower resolution screen, the window will also be resized to fit the screen if it's too big, so then when the window moves back to the higher resolution screen, it stays the same size, but is in the same relative location (at the screen edge). Hope that makes sense!

I have however added this to our feature request list (ability to remember different sizes and positions per monitor), and if it's something we're able to add in the future, I'll be sure to let you know!

Thanks!

I've been enjoying testing out display fusion but there's one thing that's been driving me a bit crazy ... when switching a window back to its previous monitor df doesn't remember where it was!

My two monitors are different sizes: my laptop is 17" [1440 x 900] while my main monitor is 27" [1920 x 1200].

Let's say I have a window open on my big screen, sized at about 1300 x 800 and positioned in about the middle. I click "Move to Next Monitor" and it goes to the small screen, where it is positioned so I can see the whole window - great!

The problem comes when I again click "Next Monitor" to move it back to the big screen. Instead of being restored to the middle of the screen where I had originally positioned it, it's now in the upper left corner! Apparently df uses the same offsets from top and left side that the window had on the small screen.

If you can get this licked I'm in for the Pro version!

Thanks for listening ...
