The next version (3.1) will completely unload any system hooks (including the mouse hook) when a game is detected, so this should help with the Sim 3 issue for sure.

Quote:
Unfortunately version 3.0.4 apparently makes it worse. The high CPU usage remains but now instead of slight "hiccups" the whole system micro-freezes for a few seconds (can't move mouse, etc) when I'm installing something, running a VM or any more intensive task. Sometimes also when I'm gaming.

Quote:
I've also noticed this too since I began using DisplayFusion (3.0) with the mouse freezing or lagging when doing something heavy. I'll try and take note of what I'm doing when this happens.

This has been bugging me for weeks! Using Outlook 2007 on Exchange, if I click a new message I haven't read yet I would get a breif moment of mouse lag whilst it loads the page. Or playing Sims 3 my wife would complain of mouse lag for up to 5 seconds, yet the game is still running fine in the background, she just can't move the mouse when she clicks on her Sim sometimes.

However, today the free trial of Displayfusion ended, so I exit'd the application and the problems disappeared! I never for the life of me thought it would be this causing the issue. If I'd of had enough free time over the last few weeks I would of re-installed Windows as it was driving me crazy.

Meanwhile though, Displayfusion has otherwise performed tremendously and I shall be purchasing Pro tomorrow morning, in the hope that the "significant CPU usage reductions" will remove the mouse lag.

I've been pouring a ton of time into DisplayFusion lately, mostly because of the new 3.0 release. A few bugs were discovered after releasing it (as with any software) so I've been working to clear them all up. Windows 7 has added an extra challenge to the process as well. The Windows 7 taskbar is so radically different from XP/Vista that it has been interesting trying to interact with it.
