Unfortunately it's not possible for us to save the positions automatically when a monitor configuration change is detected, because by the time Windows notifies DisplayFusion that the monitors are changing, the application windows have already been moved to their new positions

The wallpaper stuff is easy, because it can be (and has to be) applied after the monitor changes have already taken place, but the window positions would need to be saved before the changes take place.

Sorry for the bad news!

Hi there,

At work, I have a 3 display configuration (2 external, 1 built-in) with my laptop. Often I would need to undock the laptop to attend meetings, creating a 2nd profile with just 1 display. If I need to present at the meeting, I would be connected to a projector, thus creating a 3rd profile of 2 displays.

Profile 1) Desk, 3 displays
Profile 2) Meeting, 1 display
Profile 3) Presenter, 2 displays

As I move from one profile to another, the open windows are shuffled around creating a real chore to reorganize.

I understand there is a function to manually save/restore the open windows positions. However I find it far to easy to forget saving before disconnecting from the projector or the dock. It would be too late to salvage the windows positions by the time you realized. When dealing with 15+ open windows on a regular basis, it's becomes a real bummer.

Is there anyway the operation could be made to save automatically upon detection of a monitor profile change? and conversely automatically restore the last saved positions when a new monitor profile is loaded? The wallpaper setting already behaves as such flawlessly, why not extended that functionality more to include windows positions?

Thanks for the consideration. Great work with the software!
