When switching from the TV profile, it's like Windows "forgets" that it exists as an audio device, whereas it still registers as a display device in NVIDIAs control panel.
Well, a serviceable solution I'll use then to include the TV as an enabled monitor on the PC profile as well, then position it so that it is minimally intrusive in regards to cursor and window locations, etc. That way, it should remain detected regardless of profile switching.

One profile is configured to a Sony TV, including its built-in speakers, connected to the computer via HDMI cable. The other is configured to a computer monitor and the computer's speakers which connect by whatever cable that is. When I switch from the TV profile to the monitor profile, the associated sound device of the TV simply disappears from Windows' settings. When I switch back to the TV profile, the device does not reappear and sound plays on the computer's speakers. I can get the TV to reappear as an available sound device by running the troubleshoot under Windows' sound settings. Simply opening that up detects the TV as a sound device, which is then automatically selected as the active playback device.
When I try running the same troubleshoot while the monitor profile is active, and selecting the Sony TV for troubleshooting, Windows gives a prompt of "This device appears to be disconnected" or some such, which it of course is not.
I think this may be a fault with Windows itself, but since the problem arises from monitor profile switching in DisplayFusion, I wonder if maybe you can help. ]]>
