To resolve the issue completely, I ended up opening up my start menu and i have to search for services and right click and run as administrator. I could quickly see that DisplayFusionServices was automatic, but the service was stopped. All I had to do was restart the service and then go into the logon menu and apply the changes. All fixed! If it's not, could you try the following?

• Open a Run prompt, type in 'services.msc' and click OK
• Double-click "DisplayFusionService"
• Make sure it's set to "Automatic," and click the "Start" button to start the service
• Try setting the Windows Logon Background again

So randomly yesterday my lock screen stopped mirroring the desktop wallpaper even though i haven't made any changes to the settings. I have tried disabling and re-enabling the windows logon feature. I have tried deleting the image from my computer entirely, and the same jpg is still my logon wallpaper. It's like this image is a ghost on my computer now, saved in some godforsaken cache. I am using windows 7. any ideas how to get my logon window to match the desktop again?
