Greetings again,

I came up with a new idea, and it is doable but i would rather have it on a GUI for adjustments, or for "not as technical" users.

here's the story.... I have a chat program for work and flashes alllllll day long even when nothing is said for a really long time, and I found a registry value to limit the number of times things flash on the taskbar. The Idea for this comes from skype, and how i get a msg, it flashes a few times then just remains yellow till I get to it, so the idea is to barrow that but with all taskbar items.

here are the steps I found:
1) Type regedit in your start menu search bar and open up the Registry Editor.

2) Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP

3) In the right pane, right click on ForegroundFlashCount

4) Click on Modify, and select Decimal.

5) Change the Value to a higher number to however many flashes you want.
NOTE: The default value is 7.

Setting a Value of 1 will give you a single flash.
Setting a Value of 0 will give you indefinite flashes.

6) Close Regedit

7) Log off and Log on or Restart the Computer to apply the changes.

so it seems doable, and would be a nice feature to have a drop down to select a number of flashes, then just hit apply, sure you may still have to reboot due to the registry, but it would be safer for end users, and give everyone a rather nice feature.

Thank you for reviewing my request.
