Hi Owen, I was more referring to DisplayFusion's functionality still differing from Windows 10. While DP taskbars can ungroup applications, it still seems to show them with just the application icon, instead of the full description.

It makes it difficult to multitask as say, if you had 3 word documents open, you would just see 3 word icons and no window titles.

Thanks for this thread, I was looking for this for a while. I was using StartAllBack for ungrouping, but it went rogue on me - possibly because of conflict with the DP. Couple of weeks ago it started acting up, when I right clicked on the start, it would suddenly open about a dozen apps. Or when I touched settings. Had to uninstall it eventually, after trying to re-install and what not.
It however works fine on my other laptop which does not have DP.

Check out ThisIsWin11 instead of StartAllBack. It is a bit more involved, but comes with handy anti-bloatware stuff along with another project by them LoveWindowsAgain that can tweak it a bit further.
Hope you will find these two apps useful as i have.
I automatically felt disgusted with what windows 11 did to my poor taskbar. It didn't nee to be mutilated like that.
Best of all, it's open source with portable zips if you want it that way. Also not... well what StartAllBack does.

edit.... I'm a fool. Different tools. The startmenu fix i got wasExplorer Patcher

Forget that link I posted, it is a bit confusing.
Instead set your primary taskbar to autohide.
Right click on the DF icon and select Settings.
Click on Advanced settings.
Look in the Taskbar section for "Show DisplayFusion Taskbar On Windows Taskbar Monitor and click on it.
Set the option to Taskbar is shown on Windows tasbar monitor.
That should work, or at least it did for me.

Microsoft has, for now, disabled that option. You can get labels back with a third party software called StartAllBack
Link: https://www.startallback.com/

Bummer. I installed StartAllBack and it works (I went ahead and purchased a license for it as well since I hate being a leech), but it has some conflicts with duplicate sound and network icons showing up in the secondary taskbars managed by DisplayFusion (the secondary monitors show two network and two sound icons when running StartAllBack alongside DisplayFusion taskbars).
Are there any plans for DisplayFusion to have a pseudo-taskbar for the primary monitor like you're currently doing for the secondary ones? I hate having to run multiple utilities just to restore functionality that has existed in Windows for over 25 years...
I suspect Microsoft is going to continue dumbing the taskbar down as time progresses because they're too phucking stupid to realize that Windows is no longer the operating system used by grandma and grandpa. They now have mobile devices that do everything they need, and Microsoft already gave up on that crowd with the death of Windows Phone and Windows RT. Windows should be targeting power users, gamers, and professionals. If we wanted a desktop that looked like MacOS or ChromeOS, we'd be running MacOS or ChromeOS. I gotta have my taskbar labels because running 5 or 6 instances of VSCode at the same time on my primary monitor is a window management nightmare, because I have to hunt and peck everytime I press Win+Tab or Alt+Tab. It's mind boggling that Microsoft is this stupid.

Thats one for the devs to answer but if you want a DF taskbar on your primary screen then that can be done through the settings but you need to set the primary taskbar to auto hide.
I think this post explains it:
If you right click an empty spot on a DisplayFusion taskbar, you can head to Multi-Monitor Taskbar > Group Buttons > Disabled.
Thanks!

But this only works on the secondary taskbars. How do I re-enable the labels for the primary taskbar?

Microsoft has, for now, disabled that option. You can get labels back with a third party software called StartAllBack
I just reverted back to Windows 10 when I realized there was no ungroup setting in Windows 11 for the taskbar. I don't recall having that issue when running the Windows 11 Preview on Hyper-V. I was able to get the taskbar itself to work really nicely with DF on the other monitors and managed to make it match stylistically without much difficulty (just a few tweaks to the height and such), but couldn't find any way to ungroup similar taskbar items. Am I missing something? It was virtually impossible to effectively manage 4 or 5 instances of VSCode where I had to rely on the workspace names to tell them apart. I'm baffled at how Microsoft could do such a thing and not get an absolute hell firestorm of negativity from professional users beforehand. I don't recall hearing anyone mention this on the major YouTube tech channels.
