I've managed to muddle my way through most of my problem.

First, I created two monitor profiles -- one for basic work and one for audio editing. I then downloaded a custom script that closes all open windows (so there will be a clean slate when switching from one profile to the next). Then I created a bunch of functions for each program I want launched. Then I created a trigger that says, when I switch to a certain monitor profile, launch these specific programs (from the functions).

Only thing left to do is figure out how to get each program that opens to open on a specific monitor, at a specific position, and at a specific width and height. I suspect this is something I'd do with an application parameter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone! First time poster -- and I apologize if something similar to this has been asked. I looked through the first few pages of the forums and did a Google search, but nothing popped up that seemed to help.

What I want to do is, make so that when I press a key combination, Chrome, Windows Explorer, a specific Excel file, Notepad, and Windows Task Manager all load up and move to specific monitors, sizes, and locations.

I suspect this has something to do with Monitor Profiles, but I must be having a brain fart because I can't suss it out. What I have been able to figure out is how to move the program windows to specific monitors, sizes, and locations, but only if I open the program manually first. And really, I'd like to be able to just press one key combo to have it all happen automatically.

I figure if I can get help figuring this out, then I can do that same thing for other sets of programs (for different work/play situations).

Thanks so much in advance! And honestly, I can't stop gushing to my wife about this software. She's pretty nerdy, but I think even I have lost her with all the amazing stuff DisplayFusion can do.
