Yes, there is. When editing the code in the message, "<" and ">" automatically changes into HTML encoded characters "& l t" and "& g t".I apparently missed that point and Keith copied the code as is. Already sent the corrected version, it remains to wait when it will be added to the repository.
Thanks for the comment, otherwise this error could have existed for quite long time.

I've noticed at least one scripted function has been posted and approved yet has encoding errors in the file making it impossible to execute without manual editing.

in the code slipped through as

'& l t;'

(remove spaces) causing obvious terminating syntax issues (ex. line 40,41,42).

Not sure if there are others but wanted to mention it now to head off any others slipping through whatever auto syntax checks failed for this one.
