If you're just recording the desktop (not games), I'd suggest giving CamStudio a try, as it is more tailored towards recording regular applications, and allows you to choose which screen to record:
Hope that helps!

It shouldn't matter what order the monitors are hooked up in. Unfortunately, full screen apps don't really behave well when moved to other monitors than they were intended to run on. However, I'll test a few things out with FRAPS this week and see if I can help at all.
Thanks!

I'm experimenting with the trial version of DF, and so far I like it. But in DF, as in Windows 7, I can't seem to control which monitor is recorded by FRAPS, the image- and video-capture utility. I'm trying to use FRAPS's feature that lets one "record the Aero desktop."

I've added FRAPS to the list of apps to open on Monitor 2, and when I fire it up it will start recording on Monitor 2, but sometimes (perhaps when I click on monitor 1?) it switches over to monitor 1.

I have other applications like this, too. E.g., Windows slideshow; I might start it on one monitor, but the output then moves to the other monitor. Is there a way to control not only which monitor *starts* the application, but also which monitor *displays* it?

Incidentally, I've got my main monitor plugged into port 2 of my (nVidia) video card, and my secondary plugged into port 1. Does that matter for any purpose? Could it be contributing to this issue?

Thanks.
