So, not a DF issue Also checked and there are no Triggers defined.

What's interesting is whenever this occurs, DF will indicate the correct monitor profile (single vs multi) in the flyout menu in the taskbar.

It's most likely Windows that's changing the settings automatically when the monitor is detected. DisplayFusion won't automatically load a Monitor Profile unless you've created a Trigger rule (Settings > Triggers) to load it. I have 2 computers connected to 2 monitors. The first is a desktop PC. The second is a laptop with a docking station. When the laptop is docked, I keep the case open and use the laptop monitor as the secondary display, and use one of the desktop monitors as the primary display. Both systems run at the same time and share the same keyboard and mouse using Microsoft's Mouse without Borders software.

To clarify the above:

• When running just the PC, it is connected to the two monitors (Monitor 1 and 2).
• When running just the laptop, it is connected to one of the two monitors (Monitor 2 - primary display) and the laptop monitor is used as the secondary display.
• Running both systems with the PC using a single display (Monitor 1). The laptop remains in the same setup above.
• Running both systems with the PC using both displays (Monitor 2 - primary display; Monitor 1 - secondary display). The laptop will only use the laptop monitor and is set as the primary display.

The issue is when running under the setup in the last bullet point, every now and then (more often, it seems), the laptop monitor profile will automatically switch to the multi-monitor profile. When this occurs, I have to manually change the laptop monitor profile back to a single display.

Just a wild guess, but it seems that when the laptop is using the single monitor profile, it will somehow detect that there is a secondary monitor and the profile just automatically changes profiles. Or, it could just be that Windows recognized the secondary monitor and changed the settings. Again, just some wild guesses.

I realize this sounds a bit convoluted; I probably explained it a bit awkwardly. If this doesn't make sense, please let me know and I'll try to re-explain the setup. I can also provide whatever logs if you can let me know where to find them (and enable, if needed). ]]>
