  • Install Window Inspector
  • With the Window Inspector window visible, hover your mouse over the blank white space and wait 5 seconds or so for the info in Window Inspector to update
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F1 to pause the Window Inspector timer
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + F2 to save the Window Inspector info
  • Attach the info here

I was finally able to test this directly.

I had windows showing blank at top of middle monitor only. Switch to LEFT or RIGHT monitor, no issue. Windows effected included Windows Explorer and Notepad.

I used TASK MANAGER to end all DF processes and services.

This immediately stopped the problem. All effected windows now appeared correctly on all monitors.

It happens only with some applications, notably NOTEPAD and WINDOWS EXPLORER.

I cannot see the top of the application window, so I cannot minimize and restore the application. That is no fix.

If I switch application window to LEFT or RIGHT screen (not center screen), the top of the window appears. If I place it back on CENTER screen, the problem is present.

The top of the desktop has never been chopped off to date.

Turning off DF completely eliminated the problem.

I now restarted and ran Windows with DF. I am a DF licensee. I have installed all current updates.

I have 3 monitors. For several weeks now, DF will not show the top of some applications when displayed on 1 of my 3 monitors (my middle or primary monitor). What is displayed is blank white space at the top of Windows Explorer and apps like Notepad. I cannot find a solution for this issue.

I can resolve the issue by...

1) Switching focused window to 2nd or 3rd monitor. Then the window is shown 100% with all functions intact.

2) Opening DF Monitor Configuration and changing settings like Refresh Rate, or changing from Portrait to Landscape, then reverting. But the problem happens again within minites... only on 1 of my 3 monitors (primary monitor in middle).

All monitors are identical HPLP1965 monitors in Portrait orientation. This issue never happened until a few weeks ago.

Any help or feedback appreciated. ]]>
