CS:GO is definitely finicky with the Prevent Window Deactivation function. The function is really simple (just prevents the target window from receiving the Windows message that says it lost focus), so it's hit or miss on how each game behaves with that.

There are a couple more workarounds you can try:

Try running the function from within the game, or try opening the game's menu from within a session, then run the function.

If you run CS:GO from Steam, try opening the Steam Overlay first (Shift+Tab I believe), then run the function.

Try switching out of full screen (Alt+Enter), running the function, then switching back to full screen. Or run the function, then switch out of full screen and back.

But I play CS somewhat competitively, I use a 144hz screen and it's very noticable. I'm somewhat sure I turned 'game mode' off, 'fullscreen optimizations' off in Windows as well as disabled Xbox DVR, the issue still persists.

I thought the point of the never lose focus option was for the exact scenario I was using it for, and indeed it works great when it works, seamless multitasking without the need for alt tabbing - I thought I was just unlucky with some settings I was unaware of or something similar, I love DisplayFusion for a lot of things, but nothing in it is as useful to me personally as the focus option which inconsistantly works.
You can't force the game to stay without borderless, the focus option would be like if the game was in window or borderless and stopped responding to keyboard/ controller you could keep focus on it to receive inputs, not to override fullscreen mode- that has to come from the game foremost.

Uh sorry for not clarifying, my english isn't too good.

So I'm trying to use the option in DF for focusing the game window (''prevent window deactivation'' in the functions menu) so the game does not minimize if I click outside the boundaries of the game window. I'm well aware of the borderless option in-game, but it introduces input lag, which is a no go. Windows force V-sync's all windows to the default refresh rate, fullscreen is the only option that works well.

It's weird to me as it's psuedo-random when this happens, I will press the hotkeys to activate it. A majority of the time it does not work on the first try, I've found if I exit displayfusion while the game is open, and start it again it consistently works, it's a somewhat bad inconvenience.

Hello,

I've been a DF user for a while now, and one thing that really annoys me with the software is that it consistantly does not focus some games in the first try. What I mean by this is that I will start the game, activate the focus feature via a combination of hotkeys, it mostly does not work on the first try, I maximize the game again and 25% of the time I'd say it works from then on.

What seems to help is if I exit displayfusion once the game minimizes (if it doesnt work on the first try) I will quit displayfusion and start it again and it works from then on, this somewhat infuriates me because CSGO takes it's god damn time alt tabbing, can literally take a full minute in some cases. This persists through multiple Windows installs including 10 and 8.1 64-bit.

Was wondering if anyone has some insight here.

Thanks!
