Could you try updating, setting Sticky Password Manager to run on startup again, and if DisplayFusion still crashes, send over a debug log?
  • Update to 6.0 Beta 10: http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "Logging: Important Only"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • When it crashes, note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

I have tried this (and now tested more thoroughly) and it made no difference. I added all 4 executables found in the install location.

What did help, was moving the Sticky Password auto launch from their location in the registry at HKCU\...\CurrentVersion\Run, to a Scheduled Task, On Logon, with a one minute delay.

So timing is somewhat critical...

Just for your information, I am having the same issue with (Win7x64sp1) explorer.exe (specifically the primary screen's taskbar) crashing. (running 4 monitors)

I have been able to reproduce at will be simply locking my computer (with Win + L) and unlocking.

Today I tried to close a password manager app from my tray that I was suspicious of, Sticky Password manager v7.0.6.114.

Immediately, locking/unlocking no longer causes the crash. Also, after re-launching the password manager, the crashing does not return, until pc reboot.

Hope the info helps a little.

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 yesterday, after having repeated issues with explorer.exe

I installed all my usual programs, one at a time to see what had caused explorer.exe to repeatedly crash, and it appears to be displayfusion.

I don't know too many details (yet) unfortunately but I can say this:
  • Explorer works as long as DisplayFusion is not runnning
  • Seems to crash as soon as the tasbars on my two additional screens launch

Any advice or suggestions?

DisplayFusion was my first and favourite Steam Software Installation, and I would love to be able to use it again! ]]>
