When I have my windows xp taskbar as a column on the left side of my (left) display, I get some unexpected behaviour when using the span-window-across-all-monitors--ie. maximizing a window to both screens--the new fully-maximized window does not allow for the taskbar, instead goes behind it. (so the file, edit,etc menu items in the application are behind the taskbar, which is about 1-1/2" wide).

Using the windows maximize button in an application ( open office, cad programs, etc) all maximize to both displays but do not go behind the vertical task bar.

System has 2 24" monitors.

I can send a picture of it, if you can tell me how to upload it, or where to send it.

Is there a setting or an interaction between settings that can solve this?
