If you have splits on your monitor, then you will have to specify the split the window is on. Make sure to use 0 instead of a decimal when specifying the split (Ex. 301, instead of 3.1).
Hope that helps!

Hello,
We have this as a scripted function you can download called "If window opens on monitor 3, move it to monitor 1". You can update the monitor ID's and then run it through a window created trigger rule to only fire for specific applications.

I have a laptop and a monitor and have a trigger to move all new windows to a slice on the monitors. Is there a way to limit the trigger to only react to new windows that open on the laptop screen? Basically, I don't want any new windows to appear on the laptop screen.

The problem is that if a new window appears on the monitor, it will usually go back to its previous location, which is fine. But then the trigger reacts to all new windows and then move it to a difference slice on the same monitor.

Maybe set the action to a function that will only move the window if the window is on a specific monitor?
