Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but since the question is related to the problem, I thought it the best place to post.

I am sorting all of my wallpapers into folders by the type of image it is, such as landscapes, castles, space, etc. I am then adding each folder into the list of locations for DisplayFusion to look for random wallpapers when it rotates through them.

Does the wallpaper rotation function choose first the folder, then the wallpaper file in the random selection? I am thinking if this is the case and I have more folders with fewer images in each folder, that will reduce the seek time and help alleviate my problem.

Thank you

It might be related to the number of wallpapers, but unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about this from our end. We call explorer.exe with some command line parameters to select the file, but for some reason it just fails some times. I suspect it has something to do with how long it takes for the Explorer window to load the file list, but I'm not sure.

However, there are a couple of other ways you can find the file name of the current wallpaper:

In the Wallpaper window, click the "Info" tab, and add the <wp-filename> tag. This will show the wallpaper file name on the desktop itself.

On the Settings > Troubleshooting tab, click the link for the monitor # in the "Wallpaper Screens" section, and the file path will be listed there.

Hope that helps!

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium with an FX-8350, 16 GB DDR3, and DisplayFusion Pro 7.3.4 currently with 4457 wallpapers randomly loading from hard disk on a triple monitor setup, each monitor displaying a different image.

On occasion a wallpaper loads that I do not recognize the source of and I right-click the monitor where that wallpaper is displayed, and in the context menu, go to DisplayFusion, then open the wallpaper location in Windows Explorer. This allows me to drag the image to TinEye.com and from there usually find out whatever information about the image I am looking for.

Sometimes when I try to open the image in Explorer, it will go to the end of the list of wallpaper images I have stored, but will not have the proper image highlighted. This happens fairly regularly, but I can't find a pattern to it to determine why. Do I simply have too many wallpapers, or is there something else going on?

Thank you
