I have the fade time set to 500ms and I can see an obvious stutter (I guess you would call it) when the screens fade. It's not horrific like a strobing effect, but it's super distracting and would def put me off from using the feature. I think someone already mentioned here an option to fade in and out of focus rather than an instant switch.

OP's scenario 1 is exactly what I'm looking for also.

My Scenario:

We do a lot of developing where we might be coding on primary screen and previewing on secondary monitor several times a day. It would be incredible if that secondary monitor fades away when we're not previewing. But when we are previewing, do not fade the primary mode so we can instantly review code alongside preview.

Settings could be as straightforward as simple checkbox before the "Monitor Fading Mode" picker list (and reword picker menu if option selected obviously)

Also, if you minimize on an active monitor it switches to another monitor with the active window, even though I am still using the first monitor, so maybe a little better priority determination, maybe follow the mouse more closely or something?

P.S. The new Update of DisplayFusion is awesome. And I really like the Monitor Fading feature which is pretty nice.
However, I think it would be even better if one could set it up as the following:
(1 / high priority)
- Primary Display never (!) faded out (good while gaming etc.)
- Second Display(s) faded out by default
- When clicking on a Window (or maybe even anywhere) on the dimmed second Display, the Display should no longer be dimmed until Mouse is back and clicking on primary Display.

(2 / low priority)
- When a video is playing on the second screen, dimming ends automatically until video playback is over

Is this somehow possible? At least the first scenario would be awesomely great! ]]>
