@Kevin: Also an interesting idea. It could be set in the Compatibility area, something like "Never remove this program from the Windows taskbar". Excellent!

Another idea that I just had that has to do with MSN, how about another compatibility option where you can get a program on both taskbars regardless of setting? I know that I only want my AIM to do this, but currently its stuck out on the DF taskbar, and I don't see the blinking. Just a thought.

Could you create a setting in the "Taskbar" settings tab called something like, "Taskbar Buttons Location" with options like, "Left Side" and "Right Side". That way you could have your taskbar buttons/items, whatever they are called, be aligned to the right of the taskbar. However, this would need to be specific to each monitor. The reason for this idea is that I have 3 monitors. On my right monitor, I want the taskbar to be as normal. Center monitor is the main windows taskbar, and my left monitor, I am always having to go to the far side to click on my minimized window. But if I could have the buttons be aligned to the right, then I wouldn't have to move the mouse as far. Another thing is that with msn messenger, when people write to me, a lot of times I don't see it because the new taskbar button that gets created is on the far left of my left monitor, being out of my vision.

One thing to consider is that the naming convention of "Left Side" and "Right Side" doesn't always apply. If you have your taskbar displaying on the right side of you monitor vertically, then left side and right side doesn't make sense, but rather top and bottom. I'm not sure what to name it though. Maybe the naming changes depending on where the taskbar is located.
