Keith, finally getting to the bottom of it. I already had the icons set to "align with grid". But what I discovered was that DF moves the icons on both monitors down slightly when loading. I'd estimate about 1/4 of the grid size. If I move the icons to the next grid up, the icons stay still. it seems like when they are set at the bottom grid line when DF tries to move them down it can't so it shifts them to the other monitor. A small quirk but now that I know what the issue is, I'll change my layout slightly to accomodate.

I still can't reproduce the issue with the icons moving here unfortunately. If you right-click the desktop and enable "Align icons to grid" in the View sub-menu, then move the icons away from the bottoms of both screens, does that make any difference?

That is strange! I think this may be a Windows issue after all. I exited DF, refreshed and the icons smashed to the left screen. When I opened DF, they automatically went back as if I'd loaded the icon profile. This has only happened since the awful 2004 build of Windows was installed. Any indication of what it may be?

keith, somehow I missed your reply back in April. The problem still exists. I got around it by creating a desktop icon profile, but I've added several icons over the past few months and, of course, have to redo the icon profile each time. not a show stopper but am annoying pain nonetheless. attached is my info file.

I tested again today. I deleted the icon profile. move a couple icons to the secondary monitor. rebooted. when Windows loads the icons are in their proper place on both monitors. But just when the taskbar appears on my second monitor, the two icons jump back to the primary monitor and the recyle bin icon on the primary monitor also move a few inches to the right. Not that there is no problem with the taskbars. i'm talking about icons on the desktop.

I wanted to resuscitate this thread as I'm having the same issue. On the latest (2004) Windows 10 and latest (9.7.1 Beta 2) DisplayFusion. I have dual monitor setup with taskbars on each, with different pinned icons on each taskbar. I keep one set of desktop icons on the left monitor and another set on the right monitor. Both monitors are Acer 27" in 1080p mode. Every time I reboot, some icons from the right (#2) monitor move to the left (#1) to fill up the remaining desktop space. I can restore the icon profile and back to normal, but then when I refresh the screen (right-click > refresh) they go back to crammed into the left monitor. Any resolution?

Do you have any desktop icons that are close to the bottom of the screen? I've seen this happen before when there are icons in the last row on the screen, and then when the work area changes from the DisplayFusion taskbar being added, windows shuffles them around because it resizes the desktop icon grid.

I've been using DF for 10 years. Love it and I haven't had to use tech support for years, but starting within the last 2-3 weeks upon loading DF rearranges my desktop icons. Although I can have DF load a desktop icon profile this is a workaround. DF rearranges to the same positioning every time and I note that all of the icons are on monitor 2 which is set as primary. Prior to this issue I had no desktop icon profiles at all so I don't where it's pulling this icon positioning from.

I have an HP Envy desktop with Win 10 Pro version 10.18362.778. I have added no new apps but I'm thinking this started with the Windows update that was applied in late March. At least the timing seems about right.

Again, I've been using DF for a decade and this has never been an issue, but it is now.
