I saw a similar suggestion mentioned elsewhere but it didn't include the bit about setting a custom function. I saw the "Toggle Window Transparency" option that is in the list already and thought they meant that. Using the custom function as you suggested works exactly as I want. You can create a custom function via the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions > Custom Function tab, using the "Toggle Window Transparency" action to set any percentage you would like.

Currently it toggles between fully opaque or whatever hard coded transparency value you chose. I'd like to suggest adding an integer Advanced Settings option that lets us choose the window transparency level it toggles to ourselves. It's cool seeing my animated background through the window but not when I can't work because the text isn't readable! ]]>
